Just been proposed to?
Feeling on top of the world?
Get married on top of a glacier!

For the most unforgettable & magical of experiences, get married in the stunning beauty & awe-inspiring landscapes of the Arctic where you'll find icy glaciers, spectacular views, mountains and the midnight sun. It may not be exactly a sun-kissed beach lapped by blue waters but the Arctic is becoming the place to tie the knot for more and more couples, fond of the outdoors and nature and looking for something a bit more memorable.

Couples are opting for more off-the-wall alternatives such as getting married on the top of a glacier or in a chapel made completely of ice. You can even stay in the Ice Hotel – rebuilt every year – complete with its Absolut Ice Bar. There are the regular churches, chapels & indoor venues of course, for the not so adventurous! There have even been weddings on board an Icelandair flight from Amsterdam to Reykjav ik where the wedding vows were said over the intercom system. There has even been a wedding in the world famous Blue Lagoon (a naturally heated, mineral-rich pool atop a volcano) in Iceland recently.

Iceland provides dramatic scenery and backdrops for the most amazing wedding photographs. Get married on the top of a glacier or beside a waterfall or even at the world famous Blue Lagoon with its geothermal waters. Iceland's top attraction, the Blue Lagoon's warm water, said to have healing properties, is full of minerals and algae that will leave your skin glowing. Popular with ordinary mortals and celebrities alike, the Blue Lagoon has attracted many a famous personality from Yoko Ono, actor Rob Schneider and Duran Duran's bass player, John Taylor. Once wedding formalities are complete, the newlyweds can celebrate with a healthy start to their honeymoon by dipping into the warm water, tapped from 2,000 metres beneath the sea and packed with enriching minerals and algae.

The country's hip capital, Reykjavik, offers a cosmopolitan atmosphere with fantastic cuisine and probably the best nightlife in Europe in a relaxed atmosphere.

Or how about getting married in the north of the Arctic Circle at theIce Hotelin the heart of Swedish Lapland where the largest igloo in the world is rebuilt every November? Everything within the Ice Hotel is made of ice including the bedroom furniture, walls, the altar and pews in the Ice Chapel and the bar and chairs in the Absolut Bar.

Finland offers cosy accommodation at log cabins with open fires and saunas. Small, wooden chapels where you can have a very romantic wedding ceremony with nearby reindeer farms and Ice chapels are popular choices year after year. Honeymoon igloo suites are also available.

And then there is the Kemi Snowcastle , also in Finland, where hotel rooms' temperature is approximately -5C but you are provided with warm, sleeping bags! Arctic surroundings and an Ice Chapel provide a very romantic venue for weddings and honeymoons.
