  Weddings in Jersey

JERSEY FOOD

Good food has been one of Jersey’s attractions for many years and the Island has built up an international reputation for its range of restaurants and cooking styles, which continues to impress visitors and locals alike.

A friendly welcome, the widespread use of fresh local produce such as the Jersey Royal Potato and fresh Jersey Cream, interesting and varied menus together with outstanding value all provide a dining experience to remember - whether it be in a simple beach café, a family friendly brasserie, a traditional country pub or a gourmet restaurant.

JERSEY BEACHES

The wide sandy bays in the south are perfect for water sports such as canoeing, wake boarding, water skiing, jet skiing and windsurfing whilst the rocky bays in the north have superb sheltered diving sites and excellent fishing.
The water off the south-eastern coast is relatively calm and shallow, so good for the less experienced swimmer and also for children, whilst the west coast, with waves that haven't touched land for 3,000 miles is a haven for surfers! Dramatic cliffs in the north offer spectacular scenery and stunning vistas.

There are at least 25 beaches in Jersey and there is over 50 miles of beautiful coastline. Golden sweeps of sand fringe each coast except the north where small harbours nestle amongst the dramatic cliffs. In the year 2000, seven of the Island's beaches were awarded the Marine Conservation Society's highest award for water cleanliness: Beauport, Archirondel, Portelet, St Brelade's Bay, Le Braye (St Ouen's), Watersplash (St Ouen's) and Greve de Lecq.

JERSEY GOLFING

Jersey has an impressive golf pedigree.  Ted Ray and Harry Vardon, who won the British Open six times, were born in Jersey and both began playing here.  The Island has also produced other well-known players like Tommy Horton, and Ian Woosnam lives here.
Keen golfers can take their pick from a rich selection of golf courses across the Island , many with stunning views.  La Moye, the Royal Jersey and Les Mielles Golf & Country Club are 18-hole championship courses.  La Moye and Royal Jersey require proof of handicap, but if you don't belong to a club you can play at Les Mielles, or choose from three other venues, the Jersey Recreation Grounds, Les Ormes Golf & Leisure Club and Wheatlands Golf Club.

JERSEY COUNTRYSIDE - cycle along the Island 's country lanes and you'll have more chance of bumping into a cow than a car!

There are 450 miles (720 kms) of road in Jersey, most of which are quiet country lanes with little traffic (St Helier and the main arterial roads are busy). These roads are ideal for walking, cycling and horse riding. Enjoy long coastal walks through the lush green countryside and stop off for a well deserved cream tea in one of the English tea houses.
Jersey also has a network of over 40 miles (64 kms) of ‘Green Lanes'. These quiet, country lanes have a speed limit of 15 mph (24 kph) and give priority to walkers, cyclists and horse riders. ‘There is also a cycling network which includes coastal and rural cycle routes together with an Airport cycle route. The network consists of 96 miles (154 kms) of on-road routes and an off-road track running all the way along the south coast to Corbière.
