Getting married at the Rock Hotel

The Rock Hotel is one of the oldest hotels in Gibraltar and a landmark property perched right on the Rock of Gibraltar. With its adjoining Casino, the Rock hotel offers colonial style service and ambience with hearty steaks and fish dishes served in the Rib Room, light snacks and cocktails in the Barbary Bar and champagne afternoon teas on the Wisteria Terrace. The room service menu includes typically British dishes such as ‘bacon butty’, ‘fish and chips’ and ‘ploughman’s platter’

Weddings are conducted in the Wisteria room which is located on lobby level and the room leads out to the Wisteria Terrace from its glass patio doors from where there is a glorious sea view. Please note that outdoor weddings are not permitted at the Rock Hotel. For larger wedding parties, the Rib Room can be hired for exclusive use.

The Rib Room

The Wisteria room can accommodate up to 60-70 guests, seated for the ceremony and this is usually followed by a champagne toast and/or canapés in the Lounge along with the photographs and cake-cutting whilst the Wisteria Room is then set up for the Wedding Breakfast. You can discuss the seating arrangement with your co-ordinator as to whether you require round or long tables and a top table for the bride, groom & immediate family members.

The hotel’s gardens are perfect for wedding photography where you can pose against a backdrop of the Mediterranean sea or orange trees and wisteria. Our photography packages include the wedding ceremony and a post-ceremony shoot which can be extended to include the build up to the wedding as well as the wedding breakfast and music & dancing, if any. Ask about our complete choice of still and video photography services as well as champagne, canapés and sit down meals at the Rock Hotel

For recreation, there is a large open-air swimming pool (open from 1st April to end October) where you can enjoy cooling cocktails and snacks from the pool bar. Barbeques are available depending upon season. The pool and its surrounding area is available for private hire for your wedding reception where you can have an informal barbeque (and swim if you so wish!) or a sit down meal around the pool.

Enjoy a flutter at Gibraltar’s only casino situated next to the Rock Hotel with direct garden access from the hotel. The Casino features a bar and restaurant offering fine French and international cuisine and provides a fine venue for an elegant wedding reception. Why not allow guests a few rounds of Blackjack during the cocktail hour. Excellent for black-tie events and formal weddings.
